Marks & Spencer Outfits: Spring under $150

Iconic UK brand Marks and Spencer asked me to participate in their $150 Outfit Challenge to celebrate Spring dressing and needless to say I jumped at the chance.

Read on for my brand breakdown plus the two affordable looks!

BRAND BREAKDOWN

Marks and Spencer their very own Australian website which means we get to put together affordable, on-trend outfits with quality pieces that they’re known for. Here’s a quick breakdown on the FAQ stuff:

Sizing:

AUS size 6 – size 24.

True to size, I wear a size 8 in tops and size 10 bottoms.

They also have a petite range, plus the option to pick longer and shorter leg length for jeans and pants.

Love this feature. I found the reviews on each product to be very helpful and accurate. All the pieces I ordered had a review of 4 or 4.5 stars (sometimes higher) and they were all spot on.

LOOK 1: Spring work vibes for $127

$13 100% Sustainable Cotton (Size 8)

$48 Midi Skirt (Size 10)

$37 Kitten Heels (UK 5/AUS 7)

$29 Bag (in Teal)

Spring work-drobe to me means swapping the pants for swishy midi skirts- and this $48 pleated number has some serious swish! Bonus point for coming out fo the packaging wrinkle-free, and being easy to pair with a cami and sandals for an off-duty look.

The 100% sustainable cotton tee is another absolute bargain for $13. It holds all the comfort of a cotton tee but the long sleeves and wide neckline takes it from basic to classy.

On to heels! I’m not a heel person when it comes to workwear but the description and reviews on these $37 kitten heels (4.5/5!) had me intrigued. They’re made with Insolia technology, a design feature developed by US podiatrist Dr. Howard Dananberg. Insolia alters the geometry of the insole which helps shift weight back into the heels- no more sore toes! Very keen to give these a good wear and report back!

LOOK 2: Smart casual for $139

$43 Polka dot top (Size 10)

$48 Midrise Jeans (Size 10)

$48 Kitten Heels (Size UK 5.5/AUS 8)

When it comes to smart casual you can’t go past the old ‘jeans and a nice top’ combo!

I picked the polka dots because a) I have an unhealthy obsession but ALSO b) they’re timeless. The top actually has long sleeves which makes it a great transitional piece between seasons, and for the office! Will be restyling this with black cropped work pants or an old faux leather midi skirt I have.

The jeans are an absolute delight for $48! If you’re not comfortable with high waisted mom jeans trend but want a looser fit or something a bit different to the skinny leg trend then these fit the bill.

A pop of colour to round off the look and what an awesome colour it is! I love swapping mustard pieces in for tan/brown shoes and accessories. These shoes also have the Insolia technology AND stain resistant fabric. Comfortable, functional and affordable- doesn’t get better than that!

Hope you’ve enjoyed this little breakdown and style challenge as much as I have! Let me know if you snap up any of these goodies, love seeing what you guys hunt out!
