Friday night and I was all set to hit the town for a drink or two – or so I thought.
The dress I’d ordered online was not in fact diligently waiting for me when I got home from work and the super quick outfit change I had planned was super quickly falling apart.
After a moment (ok, several moments) of ‘I have NOTHING to wear!’ panic I decided to gravitate to wards some monochrome paired with the newest love of my life: Jeffrey Campbell Soiree heels. While they cost me a little more than I usually spend the comfort level of these bad boys are totally worth it. Plus, filling out those customer feedback questionnaires sometimes pays off- I scored $15 off!
Now while I’m all for monochrome, I’m not usually a fan of wearing plain white on black as it feels too…waitress-y. But of course, as luck would have it, the striped blouse I wanted to style the skirt with was in the wash so I just rolled with it.
Having said that, I think the asymmetric cut of the skirt and holographic accessories add the detail this look needs to set it apart from that of the bar maids. And seeing as nobody clicked their fingers and asked me for the bill I’d say mission accomplished!
